- Families relocating to the Leiden area who prefer English-speaking care

## How registration works for international patients

The four steps to register as a new patient at HeyDoc:

- Fill in the online registration form (3, 5 minutes, in English or Dutch).
- Come to Lammenschansweg 15B, Leiden, once with a valid ID for the legally required identification.
- Activate your personal patient portal with two-factor authentication (TOTP app).
- From that point you chat or video-call your own GP directly, in English.

## What about insurance?

HeyDoc is a standard Dutch GP practice within the regular Dutch healthcare system. Consultations are fully covered by your Dutch health insurance or Aon Student Insurance. Only your own risk applies, as with any GP.

If you do not yet have a BSN, you can still start the registration process. Register with your municipality first, the BSN usually arrives within a few days.

Yes. All consultations at HeyDoc can be conducted fully in English, including chat, video, and in-person appointments.

Does HeyDoc accept Aon Student Insurance?

Do I need a BSN to register?

You can start registration without a BSN, but you will need one before your first consultation.

Can I use HeyDoc if I am only in the Netherlands short-term?

HeyDoc is designed for patients living in the Leiden area. For short-term visitors from EU countries, the EHIC card gives access to urgent care via the huisartsenpost (088 427 47 00).
