GP for international students in Leiden

If you study in Leiden for more than a short visit, you usually need a registered GP (huisarts) for prescriptions, referrals, and routine care. HeyDoc runs a digital-first practice with an English-speaking team at Lammenschansweg 15B.

Insurance (check your own policy)

• Dutch basisverzekering — standard route for many residents; GP care follows national rules.
• Aon Student Insurance — HeyDoc is a contracted provider for many Aon student plans; verify your specific product with Aon/ICS.
• Other international insurers — email us before registration so we can confirm billing.

EHIC may apply for medically necessary care during a temporary stay only — rules depend on registration and duration.

1. Complete the form on patient worden (English UI available).
2. One-time ID check at the practice with valid ID and insurance details.
3. Patient portal access — typically within one working day.
